Ingredients: unbleached wheat flour, butter (milk, salt), cream cheese (pasteurized milk and cream, salt, carob bean gum, cheese culture), lemon curd [sugar, lemon juice concentrate, cream, eggs, thickener: corn starch, gelatin, color: curcumin (may contain traces of almonds)], powdered sugar.
Kiffles are Hungarian pastries that have become incredibly popular in Pennsylvania. For those of you unfamiliar, kiffles are similar in appearance to a flat, rolled croissant with a sweet and often fruity filling. It's light and flaky pastry is due to mixing King Arthur flour, cream cheese and butter. The dough is refrigerated before being rolled out paper thin, topped with a dollop of fruit filling, and then hand-rolled and baked until golden. We dust them with powdered sugar for an an artisan touch before packaging.
